Disclaimer: We are an affiliate marketing agency with over 4,000 offers at the time this was written. Here is our take on the role we play and what affiliate marketing is to us.

We break it down into 3 topics

  • Advertisers

Advertisers are those who’s role is to pay for someone to interact with their advertisement that contains a product or service. Advertisers in affiliate marketing supply affiliate agencies with offers that they own.

We at AdxMaster Inc. work closely with advertisers to help them with their digital marketing. Each advertiser will have their own budget, offers and payment terms. They have a contract with us and our role is to get them the interactions they require with customers. If we aren’t able to spend their budget, chances are we won’t get another opportunity.

Despite advertisers having their own payment terms in a contract to us, we need to pay our publishers on a set schedule to keep them working with us.

  1. Publishers

These are the individuals that get traffic to the advertisements. They do this many different ways. The most popular way is through media buy and social media. These publishers don’t need to have organic traffic, they hare highly skilled in reaching the customers through paid search and creating a positive ROI for themselves.

The other half of publishers are situated in a niche industry and have a following of potential customers that the advertiser is interested in reaching. These are organic followers that visit the publishers blog/webpage or application daily. Since the customers are interacting with the publishers content in a regular basis, they have built up trust and will act on any suggestion made by them.

In short, publishers are the ones who get paid for delivering traffic to the advertisers campaigns. They only get paid when they get the advertiser a customer.

  1. Offers

This is the product or service that is being exchanged between the advertiser and publisher. The advertiser creates a commission for their product or service so they they can get an ROI if the publisher gets their product or service bought. They do the financial forecasts on what they need to pay to get a product or service in the customers hands without overpaying and not making a profit.

Publishers choose these offers based on a number of variables, the simplest ones are what the payout is and what the customer needs to do with the offer in order for them to get paid. Based on the way the publisher gets traffic to the offer, the commission provided needs to be high enough for them to turn a profit.

If the publishers get traffic organically based on customers visiting them for their content and their expertise, the commission on the product or service doesn’t need to be high. However, if the publisher is media buying or getting traffic through social channels, the payout and the payout schedule needs to make sense for them to get your product in the customers hands.
